Logistic Battalion No. 6, Pisagua

 Logistic Battalion No. 6, Pisagua de Iquique was used as a center of detention and torture during 1973. Testimonies of political prisoners of that period indicate that those who were taken to these precincts, women as well as men, were maltreated and tortured. The abuses included privation of food (they were given only bean water and a cup of coffee a day), remaining blindfolded and being repeatedly beaten. Some accounts refer to burns from cigarettes, application of electricity, and sexual abuse of the women.
